is not only popular restaurant in the Philippines but an icon for. Ted's Lapaz batchoy started its humble beginning in Lapaz market,the birthplace of Lapaz batchoy. It now has more than 30 branches among the Philippines. Batchoy is a noodle soup.garnish with a pork innared,crush pork crackling,vegetables,shrimp,chicken breast or beef lion,
shrimp broth,chicken stock and round noodles or miki.

With just Ten Pesos (Php 10.00) in 1945 of Teodorico “Ted” Lepura started in business concept of a La Paz Batchoy Restaurant.Ted Lipura opened his first 5x5 small stall in the public market of LaPaz ,Iloilo armed with a working knowledge on making La Paz Batchoy from his work with a Chinese Merchant and his savings of Php 10.00 . The first stall was simply made of nipa and bamboo.

The only product served by Ted’s La Paz Batchoy at the time was the" original" Lapaz Batchoy soldfor Php 0.20 centavos in 1945. They developed other batchoy products, to meet customer's demand for variety. In the late 60's new products were addedsuch as Miswa, Batchoy, Bihon Batchoy ans Sotanghon Batchoy.

Ted’s La Paz Batchoy have set the standards in the distinct Lapaz Batchoy. Only Adelfa (now Adelfa Lepura Borro) took part in the business. Adelfa Borro a trained cook, as well in all aspects of the restaurant operations is responsible for the innovations in the business and has primarily been responsible for the success of Ted’s La Paz Batchoy.



Since officially starting the business in 1945,Ted's Old Timer has slowly but surely revolutionized the most famous Ilonggo dish that we all grew up and come to love,The Original Lapaz Batchoy.Being a pioneer of this fabled dish, it is undeniable fact that Ted's Oldtimer has brought lapaz batchoyto what it is now.under the watchful eyes and pioneering efforts of the daughter of Ted's ,Mrs. Adelfa Borro, the business has grown steadily , and with the help of her husband Mr. Larry Borro, they managed a business which is now considered as one of the culinary icons of original ilonggo cuisine. The Original Lapaz Batchoy back then was serve only in two variant,original and special.With a keen eye to the customer needs,Ted's change the level of the playing feild and started to serve the three variant,Special, Super Special and Extra Super Special.The reason behind of eliminating the ordinary is that every cusomer is special. The mid 7'o's was a dark day for the family of Ted's Oldtimer.It is the decade in which the Lapaz Batchoy innovator journey back to his creator.The passing away to Ted's also signaled a new dawn for the business it is the start of an era where the dish would be further innovated and brought to what it is now today.
